AFR 185 SB Ford Renegade Cylinder Heads - (72cc)

No heat riser or air pump holes for maximum track performance

These Air Flow Research "Renegade" series cylinder heads come ready for the maximum street/strip small block Ford performance possible. AFR's 185 Renegade small block Ford cylinder heads feature lightweight valvetrain featuring 8mm valve stems coupled with 2.020" intake and 1.600" exhaust stainless steel valves.

The AFR #1387 utilizes a 72cc combustion chamber volume, 185cc intake runners and 70cc exhaust ports coupled with a trademark 3/4” thick head deck. There's no problem handling that additional cylinder pressure from forced induction or nitrous. Each AFR 185 Renegade Series casting is drilled for the larger 1/2” head bolts for maximum head gasket retention. Reduced bushings are available for 7/16" hardware. Stud mount rockers arms and hardened push rods are required. Many standard features for this serious race piece in a stealthy street disguise.

NOTE: Modern hydraulic roller camshaft profiles will typically experience valve float at 6000-6200 RPM with the standard valve springs because of their fast ramp rates and higher valve lift. It is highly recommended to upgrade to the optional higher pressure dual valve springs to reduce chances of valve float associated with 6200 RPM or higher. We can also fit your heads with PAC Racing, Lunati or our own severe duty springs for an additional cost. High RPM applications should also use tool steel or titanium retainers and the ARP 7/16" rocker studs.
