For the maximum high performing street/strip LS3 aluminum cylinder heads Airflow Research's 260cc Mongoose heads are a great match for your build. Specifically designed for 4.000" and larger bore engine blocks with six bolt fastening. AFR’s LS3 260 Mongoose cylinder head offers unmatched flow performance for the cross section and volume. AFR’s LS3 is a direct bolt on and no special parts are required.

The AFR 1840 LS3 heads feature 2.165" intake and 1.600" exhaust diameter valves with ductile iron interlocking valve seats. These 260cc medium and big bore cylinder heads are ideal for serious, naturally aspirated large cubic inch engines. Also a great choice for a high RPM, big horsepower 364 combination, when matched to the correct peripherals. If you have a serious forced induction LS power plant, this is the large valve, big runner head for your beast. Due to the size of the intake valves, piston to valve clearance must be checked and verified with most camshaft profiles.

The AFR #1840 valvetrain consists of the severe duty #8019 valve springs (155#/410# pressures - .650" max lift) and CHE titanium retainers standard. Structural features like AFR’s trademark 3/4” thick head deck, reinforced rocker stud bosses and thick wall runners provide unparalleled durability. An exclusive new 69cc combustion chamber design with double quench pads help the medium and large bore LS engines generate huge flow numbers.

NOTE: LS bead locks and aftermarket bead locks are not interchangeable. GM made their bead lock radius and depth different. AFR locks are the same as GM LS.
