These custom built Trick Flow Twisted Wedge 170 "Fast as cast" based performance aluminum cylinder heads feature Trick Flow's proven "twisted wedge" combustion chamber design with rotated and rolled valve angles. This race bred chamber and altered valve centerline configuration was designed to build more mid-range and top end power without sacrificing bottom end torque. The design of these FAC TW 170 cylinder heads feature relocated valve centerline locations which are moved over the center of the cylinder bores. This configuration optimizes the valve placement and the combustion chamber shape to dramatically increase air flow and allow for a more complete combustion of the air/fuel charge. The standard CNC profiled chamber size will vary between 58cc and 61cc depending on type of valve job and valve style used.

Unlike other aftermarket small block Ford heads, these Trick Flow Twisted Wedge cylinder heads are currently the only aftermarket heads that can run 2.020" diameter intake valves with stock, unmodified pistons and still utilize performance camshafts with specific camshaft timing events. The Twisted Wedge series heads are built for heavy-duty use, too as they feature 9/16" thick combustion chamber walls and fire decks for added strength without a loss of cooling capacity, plus additional support risers in the water jackets for increased head gasket integrity.

The FlowTech prepped Twisted Wedge 170 FAC heads are designed to be performance replacements for stock Ford heads and certain part numbers are 50-state emissions-legal on 1996 and earlier 289, 302, and 351W Fords. All Twisted Wedge series heads work with most OEM and aftermarket intake and exhaust manifolds or headers.

These heads come fully assembled and "ready to install" right out of the box with stainless steel valves (intakes are back-cut for improved flow), 1.300" dual valve springs, hardened and machined valve locks, light-weight chromemoly steel retainers, ARP 7/16" rocker studs and push rod guide plates.

    I had ported/polished oversized gt40p heads and couldn't keep the heads down even under light boost. Ed built my heads with springs to match my custom cam. I used these heads along with the nice sticky Mr Gasket head gaskets.
    Results.....A Ton more low end torque. Now, I have traction issues.
    No dyno or track numbers, but the sudden lack of traction is telling me something positive. I highly recommend dealing with Flowtech Induction for the personal service to ensure you get what you need to match your combination.
